Kelley's Quality Sewing Center
From the Sew & Sews...
Kelleys Quality Sewing Center was opened in 1985 to fill a gaping hole in the Rochester area market. That being a resource not only for machines and fabric, but full service support for the sewer. We did not aim to do what others were doing well, we aimed to do what they weren't doing well, or not doing at all.
Our first location, in the Northgate Shopping Center, was about the size of our current classroom, but served us well for 4 years! As we grew, both in business and literally, we moved into a nearby building also in Northgate, where we prospered for another 8 years.
When that building was targeted for demolition, we found our current location in the Barlow Plaza, and we moved in 1997 "across the tracks!"
In the early part of this century, we tried our hand at retirement, an adventure that did not work out favorably for our customers. In 2008 we faced the choice of seeing our life's work closing up, or jumping back in the pool and resume paddling!
In retrospect we both feel that we made the best decision!
